first off, we are going to ignore the date of the previous post. with that behind us i can move on and discuss things of particular relevance at the moment. the year so far has been going great. our room is everything we hoped for and the motto has become "constant improvement" as we add some new lighting apparatus or entertainment device frequently. i've got a lighter course load this semester as i try to knock out the liberal arts requirement for good. these are the classes im taking currently:
MAX 132 Global Community
SPA 301 Approaches to Reading Texts
TRF 235 Principles and Practices
MAT 121 Probabilty and Statistics for Liberal Arts I
AST 101 Our Corner of the Universe
because of the lighter course work i decided i needed something to take up my free time. eventually i found myself in a meeting for the on campus music magazine 20 watts (new version coming soon hopefully), which i should have an article/blurb or 2 coming out next month including a show review of the circa survive/mae show i will be attending this coming friday night. which is going to be incredible.
so in my free time this past weekend, i realized i had spent too much time away from working on art and writing music. and now that i turned to the light side of computing, those things are working extremely well for me. in honor of this personal renaissance i am posting several things. there's a preview of the first in the heading of this page. over the summer i drew something in pen and just recently i added full color to it using photoshop. so here's the original and here's the color version. i am pleased with how it turned out but tell me what you think. also, i started to write music again. here is a part of something called "No, No Don't Do It" and a part of another called "Yes, Yes Go For It". the files may take some time to load so give it a bit. these are songs i created working on using Reason 3.0. also let me know what you think of these.
finally, i'll just give a list of the things that have been influencing me in the recent past: waking life, living with 4 best friends, wolf parade, beard growing, the kids are alright, good conversations, sigur rós, dreaming at night, ambition, film, the royal tenenbaums, college musicians, going to bed late, reading, circa survive.

I mean it.

dude, the black and white drawing is really awesome. i really enjoyed "no, no don't do it" as well. its good to see your reason abilities. If you get some time you should play guitar over that one or something ridiculously good. Glad to see everything is going well.
